Specifying Door Ironmongery - Häfele CPD Seminar
Häfele UK's latest training seminar for specifiers has been approved by RIBA for inclusion in their CPD core curriculum.
Entitled 'Specifying Door Ironmongery - A Basic Guide', this seminar aims to help building professionals to confidently specify hardware door hardware for all types of doors and projects.
Gary King of Häfele UK said "The RIBA Journal reported that poor specifications are the underlying cause for over 25% of architects PI insurance claims, our aim when writing this seminar was to help architects to understand the basic elements related to door scheduling and to make more informed choices when selecting products for this aspect of their project".
Specifying Door Ironmongery - A Basic Guide, examines the 5 basic parts of a typical door set, that are used to hang, close, operate, lock and protect the door.
Examples of different designs are described along with details of the relevant standards for each product type, for example how levers are selected in line with the latest recommendations in BS8300:2009. Finally the seminar explains how these components go together to create the most common door sets used in UK buildings Häfele now have four RIBA approved CPD seminars in their programme; others cover sliding door gear, frameless glass door systems and electronic access control.
Experienced CPD presenters from Häfele can visit any location in the UK to give a free of charge seminar to any interested building professionals.
The RIBA are also holding CPD roadshows at 15 locations across the UK in 2010, which Häfele are taking part in.
