What is the most common drawer unit in a kitchen?

The most common is a standard height drawer (with a cutlery insert) and 2 pan drawers

What is a Pan drawer?

A pan drawer is a deep drawer can also be referred to as a pot drawer

What is the most common drawer depth in a UK kitchen?

For standard depth cabinets, the most common depth is 450mm. However bespoke application's can be made to suit. Please discuss with your local kitchen studio partner.

What are the different types of drawer runners?

Undermount, Ball bearing, Roller, Groove, Glides

What is the difference between a "twin walled" and a "thin walled" drawer system?

A Twin walled drawer system has the runner housed in the metal drawer side, a thin waled drawer system uses under runners mounted underneath the drawer.

What type of drawer do I use with an undermount runners system?

You can use either a wooden drawer box, or a thin walled drawer system such as Matrix Box A, or Grass Vionaro. Please check compatibility between systems before you buy

Why does my drawer not adjust when I use the side to side adjustment?

In the case where you use the side to side adjustment facility you will need to remove the drawer and re insert it

How do I adjust my drawer?

Many drawers have some form of adjustment, please refer to the instruction manual for the system you have for further details on what adjustment is available

What is an internal drawer?

An internal drawer is usually hidden behind a door or a deep drawer front drawer system.

Where are internal drawers commonly used?

Typically used in a larder units instead of shelves or wire work, or alternatively as cutlery drawers with inserts

What material types of drawer are there and what would they be used for?

  • Metal sided drawers, wooden drawers and plastic drawers.
  • Wooden and metal drawers are typically used in kitchens and bedroom application.
  • Plastic generally is used where weight is an issue.

What types of drawer runner are there and where would they typically be used?

  • Ball bearing runners are commonly  used in shop fitting
  • Roller runners used with light weight wooden drawers typically in bedrooms
  • Undermount generally used on Wooden drawers for premium applications.

Are runners supplied with drawer boxes?

In general no, however at Häfele we've created sets, part numbers that include the basic components to put a drawer together.

Does Häfele sell 16mm board for drawers?

Häfele stock a number of cut to sized panels for 450mm deep drawer systems. We also stock fully assembled drawers to make the process even easier.

How long is the guarantee on Matrix drawers?

I'm looking to install a bin system in my kitchen what do I need?

Many bin systems come as a complete set with a runner system. In the instance where this isn’t the case Häfele have created sets so it comes as a complete set.

What are the latest trend colours?

Darker finishes such as anthracite, stone and black are becoming popular, however we are still seeing a high demand of silver and grey products.
