Meet the Team: Mike Kelly

Head of Project & AI Sales

Mike Kelly leads the Hafele Project Team from our Head Office in Rugby, Warwickshire. With 25 years in the business, Mike is dipGAI qualified and an expert on Architectural Hardware solutions, and die-hard Liverpool fan.

Mike has been a key member of the Häfele Team since 1992, having held roles in Sales, Purchasing, Solutions, Ironmongery and now Projects. In 2007, Mike was appointed as the Director of Ironmongery, and his interest in Projects business was piqued. From this, Mike has lead the Häfele Projects team from success to success, with a relaxed approach to management and generous attitude to learning.

Throughout his career, Mike has been heavily involved with the Guild of Architectural Ironmongery, and has educated hundreds of key players in the industry on Architectural Products. Mike currently sits as Vice Chairman of the education committee, and is responsible for setting exams and marking them.

A people person through-and-through, Mike takes great pride is nurturing talent and helping his team develop. Whether it’s becoming an ISO registered Ironmonger or undertaking the GAI diplomas, Mike is passionate about ensuring his team have a finger-on-the-pulse knowledge of the industry and all the skills they need to succeed – even if he does admit that some of the Manchester United supporters within the team are beyond help!

Mike says: “There are exciting times ahead for growth within the Project sector, and my team and I welcome the challenges introduced by emerging technologies. I am particularly passionate about Projects involving Smart Technology and innovative ways of making life easier – whether that’s for hotel guests, employees or homeowners.”
