Bedroom Lighting Ideas

There is nothing that can alter the atmosphere of a room like good lighting design can, and when working on a bedroom, it is important to get it right to ensure visibility but also to set the mood for the space. In this article, we’ll share some ideas and inspiration to assist you in designing and creating the ideal bedroom lighting layout for your clients.

1: Use Warm Ambient Lighting

Ambient lighting is a great way to softly illuminate a room. You can use LED strips or large pendants, along with other options that light up the whole room. In the bedroom, we recommend exploring warm white options, which are softer than their counterparts and create a truly relaxing ambience.

2: Discover Statement Pendants

Large hanging lights can be used to make a statement, especially when used in a more neutral bedroom. They can hang in the middle of the room to illuminate their surroundings, or in front of a wardrobe to assist in creating a feeling of a separate space. Explore our wide range of stylish and versatile pendant lights with your customers to find the perfect look for the room.

3: Illuminate Inside Wardrobes & Shelves

Finding a specific pair of shoes or shirt in a wardrobe can be a struggle when there is a lack of light, however, this doesn’t have to be an issue. Simply add LED lighting, which allows you to illuminate these spaces. Lighting in closets and wardrobes is an absolute must for creating a functional and elegant feeling in bedrooms.

Explore our RGB LED strips that add flare and colour to the room, if that is what your project calls for.

4: Highlight with Task Lighting & Spot Lighting

Task lighting is used to highlight an area, whether your client will be reading before bed or trying on new outfits by a standing mirror, there is an opportunity for task lighting waiting to be found. Find out what your clients love to do and tailor your lighting design around their unique needs.

5: Create a Reading Nook

As previously mentioned, lights around the house can be used to create different spaces, and a reading nook in the bedroom is one of our favourites. Floor lamps, desk lamps, and wall mounted lights can be used in the nook to separate it from the rest of the room and provide a unique area for the user to enjoy without needing to be tucked up in bed.

6: Accent Lighting

Spot lighting, or accent lighting, can be used to draw attention to a specific object or area. For example, highlighting your client’s favourite statement pieces or photos. You can also use this type of lighting to illuminate art pieces or the architecture of the space.

7: Take Control of Light Intensity

Light dimmers allow the user to take control of the lighting intensity of the room, and change it from time to time, depending on their unique needs. This is fantastic for a bedroom project as this space will be used for people to wake up in the morning – where they may be seeking invigorating light, or wind down in the evening - where a dim and cosy atmosphere would be preferred.

Above are 7-bedroom lighting ideas to inspire you while creating your design. It is important to remember each project is unique, and clients will need different solutions depending on how they use their space.
