The luxury residential space is a replacement of a 1930’s house in Camlet Way, and a response to the need for more premium housing in the area - especially as the 1930’s properties grow to become obsolete in the locality. Romantic, idyllic and peaceful, Hadley Wood’s charm is that each house is entirely unique; this environment is a far-cry from the sometimes un-inspiring development style of modern new-build homes, and required a more personal idiosyncrasy. The Architect describes the project as “Inspired by Cotswold stone manor houses of “Cider with Rosie” country and the simple white rendered forms of the New England compounds of Hugh Newell Jacobsen”

The design of the residential project combines the client’s requirement for the classic pitched-roof, columned silhouette that creates the vision of ‘home’ that we are all so accustomed to, with the designer’s passion for modern residential features. Boasting beautiful garden views behind large expanses of glass, and the four inventive “external rooms”, the project pays homage to the beautiful countryside situation and the modern needs of today’s homeowner.

The design brief was to source Architectural Door Hardware of the highest quality and robustness, with a contemporary fee, complimenting the luxury new-build residence. Concealment and functionality were also a design pre-requisite, and of central importance to the specification.
